The baby robins are growing big and strong. They are now able to feed themselves. But they still like to get their mummy to feed them The mother robin stuffs a big lump of bread in the baby’s mouth. He may have bitten off more than he can chew!

Oystercatcher Takes A Walk By The River
In a previous post called Birds on the Muddy River I published a photo of an Oystercatcher that was taken from quite a distance. You can see him much better in these photos as he takes a walk by the river looking for food. Note his long orange beak, great for catching fish!

Take a walk along the river in the summer time and you will come across all types of birds This duck has just been for a swim This is her boyfriend! And a Mediterranean Gull was sitting in the grass basking in the sunshine.

Little Egret On The River
I spotted a Little Egret down by the river today. The little egret is a small white heron with attractive white plumes on crest, back and chest, black legs and bill and yellow feet. Here he is looking for fish. Just look at those big yellow feet!

Blue Jay Through The Window
I spotted a Blue Jay sitting on a branch of the Hazel Tree So I took a photo through the window in case I scared it away. Photos came out well despite being taken through glass.

New Baby Chicks in Our Garden
This year our garden has been full of baby chicks. Baby Starlings, blue tits, robins and blackbirds to name a few. The starlings have been especially prolific. In this photo the baby starling is trying to get mother to feed him.
